Miraculous Healing, Exhibit A: Me (or "The Reason I Fasted")
I have Multiple Sclerosis, and have had it for a bit over 23 years. One of the things I’ve considered on and off over the years was asking God to heal me. I was a little hesitant, however, because God had already made it very clear to me that He could do it, He just wasn’t doing it at the time. Fair enough; I could live with that. And in living with that, I got the idea that I shouldn’t pursue it, other than the occasional requests for healing at our church. I would be prayed over, but I never really expected something instantaneous because I figured He’d do it when and if He wanted. And indeed, nothing much ever happened.

Dad, Are You Dying?
by Fred Hartley
There are only a few moments in life that are truly important and this was one of them. You see, my dad had just died. This was the man who cheered the loudest when the doctor announced, "It's a boy!" He was the one who taught me how to swim and ride a bike. He was seated on the top row of the bleachers when I hit a home run in the Little League All-Star game. He was both my friend and my hero. And in addition to all that, he was a strong enough role model to give me all the reason I needed to call God,
Along the way, I believe that God has placed several books where I would find them in order to draw me closer to Him. The most extreme example of this happened to me while waiting for Julia and Douglas’ mother to bring them to me at the airport in Raleigh, North Carolina. She was late and I went to a used book store to pass the time. They had a cart of books that were new to them. The very first book that I picked up out of that cart was called “A Sacred Romance.” I bought the book and read it from cover to cover before they arrived. Those of you that have read it know that it is about that intimate relationship with God that I have always been seeking. After taking that book to heart, it was only a matter of time before I found a way to connect to the Source.
As I stand here before you today allow me to give all the glory to Jesus Christ, the One Who said, "I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved". He is my Strength and my Savior. I dedicate my life to Jesus Christ who said; "I am the way, the truth and the life: No man cometh to the Father, but by me". God's grace has been poured unto me. And I stand here today to give you testimony of this grace and to give glory "Unto Him that loves us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood." That One is Jesus Christ, my Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

by Beth Bennett
The way that God provides unexpectedly and uniquely for His children was emphasized again to us last week. But before I get into that story let me preface it by saying that in August, 2007 our house was struck by lightning.

Just a routine medical procedure

It was October 1999 that Beth and I sat across from the doctor when he told me I had cancer--Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After nine months of chemo with family and church support, and lots of prayers — God blessed us and we came out the other side.
